Our creative process

A creative and artistic spirit is part of our DNA, along with innovation and being a company that is open to collaborating with other designers and artists. All these values can be seen in our designs:

Arty and Patch inspiration

The designers seek inspiration and research their proposals for the collection so they can be put down on paper: they visit art galleries, study books and fashion magazines, look for ideas on their travels and getaways…

Developing the collection

Our product and graphic designers work on the various parts of the collection by teaming up with experts on fabrics, quality, product and dressmaking, with sustainability in mind from the very beginning.

3D techniques

3D design techniques are used to anticipate any needs or risks that may arise during the production process. This helps to decrease the number of samples and to make more efficient use of resources, while reducing the impact on our carbon footprint.

Responsible choice of raw materials

Manufacturing responsible products starts with the choice of raw materials. The source of the materials and the way in which they are processed and supplied have a direct impact on the environment. Our materials policy ensures compliance with a set of responsible production standards related to the use of raw materials of animal and plant origin, through specific declarations and certifications.

Sustainable labelling requirements

Desigual contributes to making consumers more informed and conscious of the sustainability of garments through a new labelling model that specifies the type of fibres and processes used to manufacture them:

  • "Organic": at least 50% of the materials must be of organic origin.
  • "Recycled": at least 30% of the materials must be of recycled origin (except for cotton, which must be a minimum of 20%).
  • "Eco-friendly": at least 50% of the materials must be of sustainable origin.
  • "Better Cotton Initiative": at least 50% of the materials must be BCI.
  • "Love Processes": the production processes used have been significantly improved in terms of energy and water consumption and the use of chemicals.

Strategic partnerships

The Product department engages in key synergies and partnerships with leading international bodies and collectives. Our decision-making process takes into account the interests and expectations of our stakeholders, as well as the standards defined by these organisations and our commitments to them.
